2017-02-08[media] ttpci: address stringop overflow warningArnd Bergmann1-4/+4
gcc-7.0.1 warns about old code in ttpci: In file included from drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110.c:63:0: In function 'irdebi.isra.2', inlined from 'start_debi_dma' at drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110.c:376:3, inlined from 'gpioirq' at drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110.c:659:3: drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110_hw.h:406:3: warning: 'memcpy': specified size between 18446744071562067968 and 18446744073709551615 exceeds maximum object size 9223372036854775807 [-Wstringop-overflow=] memcpy(av7110->debi_virt, (char *) &res, count); In function 'irdebi.isra.2', inlined from 'start_debi_dma' at drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110.c:376:3, inlined from 'gpioirq' at drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110.c:668:3: drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110_hw.h:406:3: warning: 'memcpy': specified size between 18446744071562067968 and 18446744073709551615 exceeds maximum object size 9223372036854775807 [-Wstringop-overflow=] memcpy(av7110->debi_virt, (char *) &res, count); Apparently, 'count' can be negative here, which will then get turned into a giant size argument for memcpy. Changing the sizes to 'unsigned int' instead seems safe as we already check for maximum sizes, and it also simplifies the code a bit. 2017-01-27[media] media: Drop FSF's postal address from the source code filesSakari Ailus1-5/+2
Drop the FSF's postal address from the source code files that typically contain mostly the license text. Of the 628 removed instances, 578 are outdated. The patch has been created with the following command without manual edits: git grep -l "675 Mass Ave\|59 Temple Place\|51 Franklin St" -- \ drivers/media/ include/media|while read i; do i=$i perl -e ' open(F,"< $ENV{i}"); $a=join("", <F>); $a =~ s/[ \t]*\*\n.*You should.*\n.*along with.*\n.*(\n.*USA.*$)?\n//m && $a =~ s/(^.*)Or, (point your browser to) /$1To obtain the license, $2\n$1/m; close(F); open(F, "> $ENV{i}"); print F $a; close(F);'; done Signed-off-by: Sakari Ailus <sakari.ailus@linux.intel.com>
2016-10-21[media] ttpci: don't break long linesMauro Carvalho Chehab1-8/+4
Due to the 80-cols restrictions, and latter due to checkpatch warnings, several strings were broken into multiple lines. This is not considered a good practice anymore, as it makes harder to grep for strings at the source code. As we're right now fixing other drivers due to KERN_CONT, we need to be able to identify what printk strings don't end with a "\n". It is a way easier to detect those if we don't break long lines. So, join those continuation lines. The patch was generated via the script below, and manually adjusted if needed. </script> use Text::Tabs; while (<>) { if ($next ne "") { $c=$_; if ($c =~ /^\s+\"(.*)/) { $c2=$1; $next =~ s/\"\n$//; $n = expand($next); $funpos = index($n, '('); $pos = index($c2, '",'); if ($funpos && $pos > 0) { $s1 = substr $c2, 0, $pos + 2; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . substr $c2, $pos + 2; $s2 =~ s/^\s+//; $s2 = ' ' x ($funpos + 1) . $s2 if ($s2 ne ""); print unexpand("$next$s1\n"); print unexpand("$s2\n") if ($s2 ne ""); } else { print "$next$c2\n"; } $next=""; next; } else { print $next; } $next=""; } else { if (m/\"$/) { if (!m/\\n\"$/) { $next=$_; next; } } } print $_; } </script> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <mchehab@s-opensource.com>
2015-12-04[media] use https://linuxtv.org for LinuxTV URLsmedia-controller-rc4-baseMauro Carvalho Chehab1-1/+1
While https was always supported on linuxtv.org, only in Dec 3 2015 the website is using valid certificates. As we're planning to drop pure http support on some future, change all references at the media subsystem to point to the https URL instead. 2014-03-11[media] av7110_hw: fix a sanity check in av7110_fw_cmd()Dan Carpenter1-1/+1
ARRAY_SIZE(buf) (8 elements) was intended instead of sizeof(buf) (16 bytes). But this is just a sanity check and the callers always pass valid values so this doesn't cause a problem. Signed-off-by: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com> Signed-off-by: Mauro Carvalho Chehab <m.chehab@samsung.com>
2013-11-08[media] av7110_hw: Don't use dynamic static allocationMauro Carvalho Chehab1-2/+17
Dynamic static allocation is evil, as Kernel stack is too low, and compilation complains about it on some archs: drivers/media/pci/ttpci/av7110_hw.c:510:1: warning: 'av7110_fw_cmd' uses dynamic stack allocation [enabled by default] Instead, let's enforce a limit for the buffer. In the specific case of this driver, the maximum fw command size is 6 + 2, as checked using: $ git grep -A1 av7110_fw_cmd drivers/media/pci/ttpci/ So, use 8 for the buffer size.
